Child Safety for Chains & Cords

It is important that you are aware of the potential dangers associated with blind chains/cords in and around your home.

Loose blind chains, specifically those with loops (such as come with a roller blind) can be dangerous and pose a serious risk to children should they place them over their heads or get tangled up in them. If a chain gets wrapped around a child’s neck, it can quickly tighten and lead to strangulation. Child Safety Cleat Rollers and Roman Blinds

To ensure your family’s safety, a Child Safety Cleat is supplied free of charge with every one of our Roller Blinds. This is in compliance with the mandatory standard as set out by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC). Please ensure that when you are installing your blinds you use the child safety cleat supplied to fix the loose blind chains securely out of children’s’ reach.Alternatively, you can also consider replacing the chain drive with a motor as a cordless option.
